How it began…
Reservations and Road Trips is a labor of love for Brian and me. When we started dating several years ago, we were both coming from divorce and with children. Most of our dates happened with our kiddos, but the ones we had without them were more like business meetings than romantic encounters. Brian and I wanted to make sure we were aligned in our goals…especially when it came to travel. He and I both enjoy getting out and about whether it’s in town, an hour away, in a different state or even in another country (Brian more than Amber).
During our time as single parents, we both wanted to give our children memories and moments over stuff. When we didn’t have a lot financially in that season, we were both prioritizing traveling with our kiddos. When we started dating and into our marriage, getting out of the house and off of devices was a priority. We have so many great memories with our children.
Now, we are in a different season in life. Our kids are all grown and living their own lives. Brian and I wanted a few things during this time of change. We wanted to keep traveling and encouraging other empty-nesters to get out and live big. We also wanted to help other people make memories with their families no matter the age, stage or budget.
Brian and I founded Reservations and Road Trips with the hope of inspiring others to have adventures by following us on ours, with the goal of bringing in income to support our travels, and with the dream of being able to send people who may not have the financial opportunities to travel on trips!
How can you help? It’s easy! Like, follow, subscribe and share on all of our social media platforms—Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, and especially YouTube. On these mediums, we will share content from our travels, tips and tricks for getting out and about, and will showcase businesses and products we like! Another way to help is to shop on our online store where you can purchase travel-inspired merchandise. When you purchase items from the “Reservations and Road Trips” collection, those earnings go directly to our charitable giving line item. This is where we are saving up funds to curate a trip for a deserving family!
We are so excited about this next venture. We are both out of our comfort zones, we are learning a lot, and we are hopeful that we can accomplish our goals. Thank you for being on this journey with us!
